and are there any other foods I should eat or avoid?

Or general tips you have?

I'm running to loose weight, and stay healthy. As I am a diabetic and it's a program I intended to ease beginers into running.

Thanks for your help

  1. Its too complicated, try ask a doctor.

  2. Okay. Here are lots of eating tips:

    1. Yes, Calcium is very important. Drink lots of milk, eat yogurt and cheese, whatever floats your boat. DO NOT eat/drink Dairy before a race, but within 30 minutes after you run, drink Chocolate Milk. It's really good for you.

    2. Actually, Up your protein intake. Yes, Carbs are very important *Carb Load approximately 2 days before a race* but lean red meats are even more so.

    3. Stay off of Soda! Water is best. Drink as much water as you possibly can.

    4. Eat a balanced diet. Fruits and Veggies rule.

    5. Make sure you are getting in enough calories a day. You may be dieting, but depriving your body of needed nutrients*that have now been upped, considering you are now running* will just tire you out.

    Enjoy the Journey!

  3. Are you taking any calcium now, if not than it wouldn't hurt to take more calcium. Keep this in mind, a glass of Calcium fortified Orange juice has more calcium than a glass of milk. Blueberries are the healthiest fruit by far, they are very good for your heart. Strawberries, Kiwi, and canteloupe all have more pottasium in them than bananas do. If you eat what you usually eat as a diabetic you will be just fine. Have fun.

  4. calcium? wow wow wow its carbohydrates you  need bread cereal pasta u no that stuff also drink lots and lots of water

also if your entering a competion or race about an hour before it drink an energy drink (ii luv lucozade sports) and eat sweets or chocolate for a quick boost of energy make sure it has lots of energy and carbohydrates

and bananas they have lots of it!
