  1. It's very rare.  But the answers that are giving you odds are all wrong.

The odds of hitting a Royal Flush varies depending on the game you are playing.  For example in Hold'em you have two down cards and five board cards.  In Omaha you have four hole cards and must use two of those.  In five card draw, you get dealt some cards and get one chance to swap some.

So the odds of hitting a Royal are very slim, although I've hit far more in Omaha than in Hold'em.

The last time I got one some guy made what he clearly thought was the best hand and kept betting in to me.  I won a nice pot with it, about $100.

  2. pretty rare

  3. I havnt had one if forty years

  4. I've seen 'em never played one.

Well done, go do it in the cash games now!!

  5. very rare.   1 in 2,598,960 to be exact.  so i doubt you will ever get one again.

  6. Fairly.  The odds actually depend on what sort of poker you are playing.  Stud poker has different odds to Holdem simply because of the way that Holdem allows shared cards.

  7. Extremely rare.

  8. Pretty d**n rare.... to get a straight flush is impressive enough. But play enough hands online and it will crop up sooner or later. I've had one before, and I only needed one of my hole cards!!

  9. very rare

  10. i have been playing for a few years and never got one... I let my friend play a tourney in my name for like 20 mins and he got one on my name... Figures.  More common online than in real cards.

  11. I had my first one last year. Hit it on the turn in a $2-4 Holdem game. I'm 60 and have been playing poker since I was 12. I've had several straight flushes which are much more likely to come because all but one of them is open on both ends. The odds of getting a wheel straight flush would be the same as the royal since it's only open on one end. The odds were correctly stated earlier at approx. 649,000+ to 1 depending on the game you are playing.

  12. its pretty rare i doubt you will ever get one again

  13. Hi ,

    In 5 draw it is : 4 out of 2.5 million .

I had 1 royal flush in my life :-) , and it was for real money , but not a lot .

    Your friend PokerMaster111.

  14. The odds of hitting a royal in five card poker or at the flop in Texas Holdem is 1 in 649740. You count like this 20/52 * 4/51 * 3/50 * 2/49 * 1/48 = 1/ 649740 . The misstake in the third answer is that he dont count that there is 4 possible Royals.

I hit a royal at the flop in Texas Holdem once but I have played thousends of hours.

If you play 100 hands per hour 40 hours a week you will hit a royal on the flop once in three years on average.

  15. 1 in every 250,000

  16. Very rare indeed.

I once played poker in the forces and the final hand was:

    1 guy - a Full House

    2nd guy - 4 Kings

    Me - 4 Aces

true story btw and yes, it was for money albeit not much.
