I've just had an upgrade on my internal cardio defibrillator and wondered were i can get travel insurance from

If you're in the USA most travel insurance companies will provide you with coverage as long as you buy the insurance within a specific time period from your initial trip payment or deposit.  

You have what all travel insurance policies would define as a pre-existing medical condition.  As such it is excluded by all policies, however, most travel insurance policies offered in the USA will remove this exclusion if you meet the following requirements:

1.  you purchase your travel insurance within the specified time period from your first trip payment (time period varies by company, some are 10, 14, 15, or 21 days and some require purchase prior to final payment);

2.  you insure your trip for it's full cost; and

3.  you are physically able to travel on the day you purchase your insurance.

Companies offer this as a time sensitive enhancement to your policy as a way to get you to buy the insurance early.
