I've lost my car keys?

I lost my car keys at work today, could either have been in my office, or in the KFC over the road (or on the way between them).

my office reception have my number incase there handed in and so does the KFC, but I desperatly need my car.

I dont have a spare key, and from what iv found from phoning around it will cost me £120 to get someone out to take the lock and cut me a new one. Is there a way I can find out a code and get a key cut without having to pay for a guy to come and take my lock off?

My car is a Rover and there bust now, is there anyone i can call for that code?

Thanks

  1. you Key code is normally on a card that comes in the owners manual/documentation.[sometimes even your local dealer will have it on file[pc].probably in the glove box...depending on the year and weather its immobilised by the key depends on what you do.....if its newish get it opened [brick or locksmith] and see if the code card is there,if its an old one,put a small window out with a brick, and remove the steering lock mechanism ,take the black box of the rear of the lock and start it with a screwdriver.....................

or wait till tomorrow and see if there handed in....

  2. You don't say what Rover your car is, but i would say its actually worth less than the key you've lost.

  3. Ask any of the yobs on your street and they will open your car for you

  4. Someone (not me I must add) lost the key for a Rover around here, you'll need your V5, proof of ID and about £60 to £80 to get a new key... Google or Yell.com for your local Rover specialist, there's plenty about since Rover were butt-raped by our loving government.

    Have fun.

  5. idk

  6. Might be tough, but if you can find out who took them over, then with your VIN number and your photo driver's license go into a dealer and they might be able to cut you a key on the spot.  I don't know who bought out the rover information and/or equipment, just check with other dealers and find out.  Good Luck.
