I've lost my password and now I can't log in!!

Question

I only have one account on the computer, and now I can't access my documents. Plus, I don't have the XP CD anymore so I can't install it all over again, and I don't have floppy disks! Is there anything at all I can do? Help please!!!

Right, turn your pc of fand start it up again hit f8 untill a black screen comes up and use your keyboard to select Safe mode, get on and take the password off =] easy.

2 options:

1) Take it to a computer shop and get it fixed by professional

2) do system recovery (doesnt need the XP CD) by pressing some key before system boot up. (F11 i think)

You will need at the very least to have access to a floppy disk and drive. Even if it's USB, borrow from a friend or your IT staff at your company...

If I can remember what I did, I will try and explain. This happened to me a few months back.

I started my pc in safemode..

Then open control panel...

Go to user accounts then delete your account. Im pretty sure thats what I did and it worked.

Then restart windows as normal and then from there you can creat another account for yourself
