  1. Assuming you're in the UK: apply for a replacement from DVLA and be prepared to cancel your test next week as you must show your provisional licence.

    If your provisional licence was the newer photocard type, you may be able to replace it by telephoning DVLA, if it was the paper type then it must be done by post.

    Either way, prepare to wait up to three weeks for the replacement, but if you're able to use the phone option then DVLA staff are normally very helpful. If you ask nicely they may get it to you sooner, but they have no obligation to do so and it might prove impossible anyway so don't count on it. Their website is shown below.

    Full or provisional licences are highly valued by identity thieves, so a wise precaution is to get copies of your credit files about a month after the loss and again every six months for the next two years.


  2. Did you note down your licence number? If not phone Sawnsea or the likes and ask them for it. The number should be enough.
