I want to try out for my schools cheerleading team. People say I would be a good cheerleader because I'm peppy, encouraging, and small (so I could be a good flyer). Problem is, I've never cheered before and I don't want to join my town's cheer team. I have a few months. Me and my friend are planning on doing a double tryout and we already have a song picked out and we are working on our routine. I can do a couple of tumbling stunts, but what should I do that would WOW the judges even though I haven't had experience?

  1. WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO AT TRYOUTS:

JUMPS: you prob will have to do 3 jumps of your choice

    practice them with your friend

you will prob have to learn a cheer

    work on cheer motions

you already have the tumbling... so just work on  what you want to do for the judges... your most advanced tumbling would be sweet to "wow" them.

    GOOD LUCK! =D

  2. maybe a back handspring or walk over split i the air.

    make up a cheer maybe

  3. Ok go to the high school youer going to but, if you are not in like 5th grade find a gym... you don't make up a routine they do and you learn it. What is yuor best tumble move if you have your full do it... but it is really hard mabey like back handsprings e-mail me if you want more info

  4. calm down i havent cheered or have done tumbling b4. You have the same problem as me. Well since we're not experienced, I'm taking tumble/cheering! It's really fun and all my friends are doing it. I'll be able to learn back handsprings and back flips! Practice is key to. Stretch more often than you did and remember to impress judges by havin enthusiaum and smiles. Jumps are great when a flyer and flips. Also, make a routine with things that you know for sure that you can do. don't do something that you might have just learned or dont know yet. It may or can mess up your routine and NOT WOW the judges. Be strong and dont wear baggy clothes. Wear dress code if they have one. And always have your hair back. Make sure to have dance moves and lovely cheers and chants. LOL!! : ] Hope i helped and dont worry ppl were always sayin i should be a cheerleader since i am small, I would be a stunt person. But if you do make it and you get positioned where the captain puts you and your not comfortable with it, then talk to the captain about making arrangements. That way you have a more better chance of a good and better routine. WEll, hope i helped and good luck!! : ] Also, remember to have faith and confidence in yourself. Believe that you can do it. You may be scared but keep practicing and have faith and trust. : ]
