  1. Any guitar is good for any style of music depending on the technique that it is played and the effects/ amp used.  Also, real musicians play in all genres, not just one, and you might find that every so often your music interests change a little bit and you will want to play different music.  It just depends on the tone desired, but that can be achieved with pedals.

  2. Yes especially if you're a beginner. the people above talk about Gibsons and ESPs but unless you have at least $700to shell out then i wouldn't recommened buying a gibson so early on(oh and if anyone tells you fender guitars are just for beginners then stay away from them at all cost fenders are probably the staple of guitar especially the stratocaster) . NOw as for the bands you want to play like that sound comes 50% from you (the guitarist) 25% from the distortion and 25% from the guitar you use. So in the end trufully while a guitar and distortion play big roles you(the guitarist)play the most important part by being able to play the music. So trufully(especially when you're starting out) the guitar really doesn't play as big  a role in making the music as you do so my best suggestion is get a guitar with good string resistance(means the strings take bit of force to be pushed down this way you can build strong fingers), get the guitar you want its good to hear others people suggestions but find a guitar that you like what worked for them may not work for you so be open minded and if you take advice make sure there pro's (make sure you like the feel, make sure it's comfortable and make sure you like how it looks so that you'll be more inspired to pick it up and play it). THe Fender  affinity Strat  is a great guitar good string resistance it has a nice sound to it so its a great choice but make sure its what you want.

Hope that helps feel free to contact me if you have anymore choses or and p.s. get a value pack that comes with an amp its only 50 bucks more

  3. absolutely not. look at cheap esps or gibsons to get that kind of sound. its deep and thumpy whaich you only get out of humbucking pickups, which are played best in esp guitars in my opinion, and anyone who doesnt like them will still agree theyre best for the sound your trying to achieve. especially seether and three days grace

  4. fenders are like beginner kind of wanna-be rockers...

go for more of a better brand like gibsons or ibanez

    all electric of course :P
