  1. not at all, last year was my first year, and i'll be a sophomore too, your coachs will have conditioning week to help, but..

Lacrosse is a spring sport, you have the rest of summer, fall, AND winter. You can gain some moderate catching, throwing, and craddling skills by then.

Also make sure in yuor training you work on running, and most importantly stick handling

  2. god no! when i first started playing, i had no experience, but i got out there and in less than a month i knew a lot! run a lot to prepare for your high school team, and practice your speed, agility and endurance. buy a stick and practice skills and drills, and look for lacrosse camps/clinics in your area to get more instruction.

  3. It is NEVER to late to start. We have older kids than you join every year. Buy a stick and some balls and practice cradling. Also play a lot of wall ball(throwing ball against a brick wall). Do some running. And then try running while cradling. Unless you want to be a goalie, then there are other drills you can do. Also if you know anyone on the lacrosse team just throw around with them you will be surprised how much it helps.

  4. It's definitely not too late.

Lacrosse season doesn't start till spring.

So if you're serious about it, just get a stick and a ball.

    What stick to get:

ATTACK : ones with the shorter shaft

DEFENSE : ones with the longer shaft

look-up some clinics or camps in your area:

you'll learn tons of tricks and techniques for attack and def.

you can also call up a friend and practice throwing and catching. if not, practice with a wall.

Most importantly, work on your endurance! Run as much as possible. (Sprints are most important)

Lacrosse is any awesome sport and most people catch on quickly. Good luck with it and have fun. (:

  5. I play lacrosse. I started in 8th grade and by the end of the 1st season I'd scored4 goals. I think it is definitly not too late. Are you a good runner with endurance? If so, just get a stick and start practicing. I would find someone to practice with. Bring your stick every where and practice cradling. (What you do when you have the ball in your stick.) If you aren't a natural athlete I would still practice, but start endurance training.
