  1. The ACT science portion really does not require you to have any knowledge of science. Here is an excerpt about the science section from my Princeton Review "Cracking the ACT":

    "The ACT Science Reasoning test presents you with science-based reading passages and requires that you answer questions about them. Sounds just like the Reading test, doesn't it? That's because it is just like the Reading test. Rather than test your knowledge of science, it's supposed to test your ability to 'think about science'".

    As long as you can analyze some data and answer about 5-7 questions on it, you'll be fine. Instead of asking you "What is photosynthesis?", it will ask "According to the data, when is photosynthesis the most effective?". This is a rough example of what the science section is like.
