Is there any field of life where this has been proven by science or trial?

  1. Ummm.........only people with strong wills are mentally strong in addition to their physical strength.

Meaning? They get ahead in life without intentionally destroying other innocent people for no reason to glorify their own selfish desires, needs and wants.

As you know all evil, antisocial, narcissistic, sociopathic, psychopaths are the weakest people of all what makes them so vile is their own demented way of survival at others expense.

  2. Women handle stress better. That is mainly because of estrogen. Though it is not as great divide as it used to be, men suffered more heart attacks than women. But, still, Women have a longer life expectancy.

    C. :)

  3. it all depends on the person. in most cases ive seen women are mentally stronger. not all tho. it used to be that men were strong physically, and women were the completly helpless ones. now a woman can be almost as strong as a man. i think its in our beings that men are just physically stronger, and women are mentally stronger. nothing against men or women, its just the way we're built. this cannot be proven b/c it is not always the case. sometimes men are the stronger in both areas. sometimes women. it all depends on the past events of their life, not b/c of their gender, altough it can help sometimes.

  4. yea i heard these things too; i believe the "women are mentally stronger than men" contest takes place ...hmm, in their dreams..

  5. It's a bunch of b.s.  Women are not stronger than men, and men are not stronger than women in every single field, all the time.

Strength is determined by content of character, and has nothing to do with gender.

  6. It's a load of bull**** woman are not mentally stronger than men, and men aren't mentally stonger than women. It's embarasing to normal women when feminist spread c**p like that.

  7. well im happy to see so many men and women responding positvely and stating that both men and women have strengths and weaknesses and are made to complement eachother, sadly there have been a few sexist reponses too...

    ...

with all due respect i dont think this is a good arguement

it matters *****ENTIRELY******* on the individual

just out of curosity, why are some women saying here women are stronger mentally? like i said i dont believe in these arguements clumping genders, races etc and believe in the individual but men fight wars etc, have invented everything from the tampon to the television, it is men who have handled the pressure and become the great leaders and innovaters, the revolotinists etc. the ghandis, luther kings, abolishing slavery etc.

and by the way women take almost 50 percent more sick days then men and thats excluding child related illnesses!! also men have higher pain thresholds and women are TWICE as likely to visit GPs then men and pain clinics are almost entirely female

my point here is we should be treated as individuals but i found it curious that some women were incorrectly suggesting things about men mental capacity

  8. we just are stronger that you all, 'n you know it, care to argue? lol

  9. There is absolutely no way to quantify that objectively.

  10. Women are having to compete with men and they are finding out that men are mentally stronger and thus the Government has to make laws to stiffle mens natural abilities to give women a chance.

A much more balanced approach would be to strengthen the family unit (instead of destroying it or perverting it as this Government seems determind to do) then women and men would start to compliment each other instead of trying to compete with each other and thus we would have a much heathier society than this "sick" one.

  11. Very Interesting question! I don't believe it to be universally true... however, there's no smoke without fire:

    1) Pregnancy seems to be the best point which contributes to this stereotype... agonizing stuff they go through in 9 months (thank you, mom =) ) so it should indicate superior mental toughness to men if they manage it over and over again. That said, we do not know if men would cope just as well for obvious reasons...

2)Women have had it tough in the centuries past. You get the impression of the quiet warrior, raising her family, supporting her husband, wordlessly taking in the harshness of a man's world... mental strength needed, and since men weren't subjected to such conditions....

    3) When it comes to children, women would want to show them that they are strong, no matter the circumstances... how often have we heard of the single mother taking 3 jobs and still finding time 2 help her children with her hw? Their kids regard their moms as heroes and proclaim it from the rooftops... dads, for some reason, you dun hear so much, though I'm sure there are men who work just as hard... probably goes back to times before equal rights...

It would seem that its a lack of evidence on the part of men rather exaggerations on the part of women that have contributed to this stereotype... men and women still rock though!

  12. this is not something to generalise, it is more based on the individual no matter what their s*x are

  13. I hardly believe that. Woman get emotional very quickly and hormones kick in. Men are more logical, it's not bad thing it's just a difference. Woman get flustered quicker if they can't do something too!

  14. ah let them thank what they want , who cares lol and they say men have such big egos.

  15. Andrew

What I have noticed is that women seem to have an inner strength or determination which comes out when the chips are down. They seem to be able to manage this times of crisis on a different level than men.

Let's face it, men are physical creatures, we feel bad we go chop some wood or something. I know that's a stereotypical example, but I hope you get my drift.

Women talk, share emotions as a way to come to terms with things, guys bottle it up. We are just wired differently in the roles of protector and provider for the family. Those attributes are still present in the 21st century and I don't think they're socially programmed either. Maybe it's something deeper inside the DNA? Sometimes we can't see the forest for the trees.

  16. Probably something women made up.

  17. oh dear some are ANGRY, wonder why

Oh i think the SAS would like to find these women, don't you

  18. no way. men are much stronger.

  19. It's been proven in same dubious studies that "prove" that men are better in science and reasoning.

  20. No, it's not proven, because it's not true.

  21. Yes I agree with Tracey. I guess it's based on peoples observations where women have been stronger emotionall, as in dealing with a crisis or tragedy. But like all sterotypes, they are just that. PEOPLE are all differeny

  22. I appreciate people trying to make the genders completely equal.  The truth is that we have equal opportunity and the differences are so minute that they are not worth mentioning.

WOmen are definitely capable of tolerating much higher stress levels than men, it is a natural defense mechanism to giving birth in the wild.

It is also normally, in nature only, incumbent upon the women to care for the young.  Though much of this has gone on the wayside within modern society. Women are still more stout in this area than men are.

Another important factor is the male "macho" ego.  We all know it exists and it is a function of inherent insecurity.

So I would have to agree with the statement to a certain extent.

  23. It's evident you live in "your own little world". What a pity you poor thing.

  24. Is there any field of life where MENS' mental dominance has been proved?

We have our place and our purpose. We are different but equal.
