  1. It all depends on the waves your trying to surf on. If your trying to surf waves that tube, (not good for beginners, but thats what i learned on) id say short board. If the waves are small and get sorta big, go with a fun board, you can ride really small waves and ride some good biggies also.

  2. OK.Im no surfer but..

I would start with just a basic board then move up.

Give it time and you should get the hang of it.

And if you dont there is always lessons if you aren't

    already taking them.

  3. You shouldn't at least not yet.

Three days isn't really a lot of time by anyones standard. You want to try different boards to figure out what shape and size will best suit you and the conditions that you prefer to ride in.

As a general rule you want to start off on bigger boards, because they are more stable and easier to paddle with.

  4. yea man get a fun shape i got one for my baech house for my friends to use when they come down and its really stable on wave for begginers to get up and def try workin out ur balance on some foam before u hit the waves get one lik 7'8" or bigger to small and itll be to rockey for u to stand up and when u feel youve got it down and u can turn  little try a shortboard out and u can jsut sell the funshape to a shop keep it in goood condition

  5. You need to get a foam top if you can't stand up on a long board, anybody can stand up on a foam top. heres a web site http://www.waveblasters.com/surfacesoftt... , i've seen kids stand up on these things really easy. for me i started out on a 9'0 and i stood up the first day just try pushing off the ground the first few times, and surf on the white water after the wave crashes.

  6. It takes alot longer than 3 days. For beginners the more foam and floatation , the more stable and easier to pop up. So, the bigger boards are better for beginners. If your body size is small maybe a funshape (7-8ft), or if your 5'5" and up maybe a longboard (8-10ft)
