  1. i think you're trying to do too much in too little time.  do you actually know how long it takes to go from Geneva to Zermatt, then Zermatt to Interlaken?  Geneva-Zermatt single trip via train is 3.5hrs+ and Zermatt-Interlaken is another 3.5hrs+. and you don't go to the Jungfrau region for Interlaken, rather it's for the excursions to Wengen, Murren, Lauterbrunnen, etc., which is another half hour minimum on the train.  from Interlaken Ost back to Geneva is about another 3 hours. this is over 10 hours of train rides in just 4 days! now, the routes you're talking about is very scenic for sure, but i don't think it's worth going to Switzerland and spending so much time on public transportation.

i say choose Zermatt or Jungfrau, not both. in the Lac Leman region, there's lots to do, including trips to Lausanne, Vevey, Montreux, Fribourg, and Gruyere. what's trickier is deciding how much time to spend in the Lac Leman region and how much time in the Alps.  i've stayed in Wengen for an entire week before, and even then, i thought it was too short (the Swiss Alps have that effect on you)...

  2. Check out the Zeppelin Museum on Lake Constance while you're there. And report back via web-log the whole time. Sounds like you've got a really fun trip happening.

    Happy trails!

  3. you'll be busy then! have a good trip

  4. You don't have enough time to enjoy each place. As "Starwalker's profile" tells "it's worth going to Switzerland and spending so much time on public transportation".

Either choose Geneva to visit a beautiful Swiss city and to make shopping or choose Zermatt to enjoy the natur, the mountains and so .... of Switzerland. These places are quite expensive (sleep, eat, make activities)

Have a good time in my country!!

  5. Good choices...but if you could, stay alittle bit longer I would recommend going to the capital, Bern. This city is truly Switzerland...the town is beautiful, many places to shop, it's historical, and there is never a shortage of great food (of course, that goes for the whole country). There is so much to see in Switzerland...I'm going there for 4 weeks in May. Have a great trip!

  6. If you don't mind travelling by train a bit more, I would recommend to only have a short stop in Interlaken, but rather to visit Lucerne (German: Luzern) and stay there over a night. Returning from Lucerne to Geneva, you perhaps would like a short stop in the cute Swiss capital called Berne (German: Bern)?

SBB is the national railway provider, offering online time tables also for all other railway and bus/ship services in Switzerland.

  7. Excellent choice, not the cheapest places to go in Switzerland but probably the most beautiful ones! If you're a ski amateur then you'll have a lot of fun! Very short trip though...

  8. forget Interlaken

  9. Well done you!!!

    Have a great time!!
