okay so this is sort of anthropology meets agriculture meets morals.

so If you had the best 2 acres paddock/pasture ever and it was the only one you owned and it was brilliant and the horses loved it and then one day you found a skeletal hand just protruding through the grass would you.

A..Immediatly call emergency

2..sort of cover it back up a little until you found alternate grazing for the horses

B..really hid it and pretend you never found it, re sod and reseed that area if needed

or 4..in the dead of the night, dig it up and go and hide it next to the nearest walking track then fix your pasture so it was never there, so the authorities won't take over your horses pasture.

and if you have C..Other that's fine also, just let me know what other is..thanks

Mono has given me a lot of questions to think about..lol

  1. Honestly, I would throw it away and forget about it. Sounds crude, but I've got tons to deal with and my horses having good pasture is more important to me than that.

  2. What a strange question!

I would call the police so they could find out who it was and why they're there.  Before I made that call, I would go buy some electric fencing, so I could continue using most of the perfect pasture, while the police dig up the remains (asking them to be sure to close the main gate when they quit for the day).  I don't think they'd tear up too much of the grass, then I wouldn't risk being haunted by the poor soul who was reaching out to me from the grave to solve their murder.

  3. D. WHAT skeleton?? I didn't see any skeleton..,,oh, THAT one?? It's a deer.

  4. I pick D...I know that is not in your choices, but D is "I would  I wake up from the night mare and take an aspirin and go back to sleep...you have been watching to much TV.  .

  5. Oh, that's just where my dogs attacked the last people that were on my land uninvited...and actually the hand is all that's left.

I'd break it off and hang it for Halloween.  While the horses happily graze on the lush pasture.  Hmmmmm....wonder if that is why the pasture is soooooo lush???

**EDIT...in all honesty...I'd stare at it for a few minutes.  Then I would tell my husband and BOTH of us would stare at it again.  Maybe take some photos...

Then I would call the newspaper and authorities.  *My town is so small, this would make front page news.*

  6. Oh my God!!!!

How do you know its not from like 50 years ago,and its some murder mystery or something.

I think the right thing to do is tell. It's kind of when you think I don't tell so my horses can stay-sounds really selfish. And if you give it to the anthropologists I don't know it just sounds less selfish.

  7. CSI only ropes off a small portion of 2.5 acres.  IF the bones are part of an old crime scene, then it will add closure for somebody.  IF they are a lot older, then may give a history to your area.

I'd call 'em out just to find out who the hand belonged to!

  8. I'd hate to think that someone might be out there still not knowing whatever happened to their loved one.  The right thing to do is obvious.  This is not the kind of thing where you can put your own interests first. Someone appears to have been buried there, and anything that can be done to find out who it is should be done.  Period.

  9. C -- dig it up out o curiosity and if it's a full body call the police and tell them, if it's just a hand, chuck it out and walk away. lmfao.

    Yeah, i'm weird like that.

  10. I've had friends in the UK who've had this problem  - fortunatelty it turned out that their farm was on an old iron age settlement and the body was a burial from way back then.

So I'd cover it up a little, sort out the horses then call the police.  If the hands skeletal, it's pretty much a cold case!

  11. It would creep me out knowing that there was a dead person under my pasture. I would call someone out to take care of it...

  12. Would that be the one under the stone trough ?
