  1. its more like 80,000

  2. if you study sea horses, you get 25k, but if you study sharks, in shark infested waters, with bloddy chum tied to your leg, then you get 75k.

  3. It depends on what area of marine biology you go into, working for the government or fisheries agencies will get you more money but may not be in the area of marine biology you want to go into. working on coral reefs or with the charismatic species like dolphins and sharks can be purely voluntary or pay much less than minimum wage.

there is no actual number that defines a marine biologists wage as they can do so many different things.

I'm currently on a voluntary position on a deep sea research cruise, I don't get paid but i don't pay anything either, its the experience that counts. If you are looking for a well paid job i would look into studying something else.

  4. According to the Biologist, Marine: Salary by Age chart, the median salary of a marine biologist aged 25-44 is around $48,000. This is an increase over younger marine biologists, but the highest marine biology salaries go to older scientists who have more experience in the field, which can go up to over 80,000.
