White Label is no a very well known whisk(e)y, it's a cheap one. I know other brands, scotch, 18 years, etc, I would like to now if people can drink it or to sell them to collectors. How much could I ask for them? Is it damaged? I need some help.

  1. I'm sure its meant to mature? but that's a long time woah.

I have to say i like Mr. Sonny's answer best haha!

Edit: So is it the same for wine? I always thought if you left wine/wiskey in a bottle it matured, obviously i know different now, but is it the same for wine?

  2. Drink it.

  3. Give it to someone who was born in 1955. That's about the good of it.

  4. Whiskey stops aging when it's taken from the barrel.

18 year old Scotch is aged for 18 years BEFORE it was bottled.

What you have is 6 month old whiskey in a 53 year old bottle.

  5. whiskey doesn't really age in a bottle, if it was crappy then, it will be crappy now. from what i can tell it will not mature like a wine, that it actually may deteriorate over the years. it will mellow in the barrel however and that is how the "age" of a whiskey is determined". crack one open and see what it tastes like.

  6. White Label is/was fairly common, which means it isn't going to be very collectible. You might be able to get a few bucks for them as novelties.

As mentioned by other posters, the Scotch stopped aging in 1955, so it's probably 3-5 years old. It is drinkable, though.

  7. Work on a cure for the hangover.

    Because there WILL be one!

  8. Any type of liquor that is"aged"  it is aged in the barrels before it is bottled.  once it is in the bottle yes i guess technically it is aged more but the real value here is that the bottles are so old.  You should find an appraisal expert and have them price it for you.  Otherwise you run the risk of loosing on a great deal.
