He said that I've scored a 77 and it was pretty good on the Electronics portion of the ASVAB and I was wondering if that is a good score on that portion or not because it's not that I trust recruiter, but it's something I wanted to know more about before I decide what I want to do. As much help would be appreciated, and if there is anymore info you guys need to know about this subject to help determine if it's good or not I'll be posted and will reply asap.

  1. A 77 is actually a pretty good score for the electronics potion of the ASVAB. It will give you plenty of job options but if you don't feel as though you do not want to go into any of the available MOS's discuss other options with your recruiter based on the rest of your line scores.

One nice thing is that a lot of the MOS's offered involving electronics will translate easily into the civilian world if you decide to get out of the military at the end of your contract.

    Congrats & Good luck!

*Side Note* You're recruiter is there to work with you And for you. If you ever have questions then go and ask him! From the sounds of it your recruiter is trying to have a good relationship with you and wants to work with you :-)

  2. It is a pretty good score and will qualify you for almost any job in the electronics field.  Good test scores give you more opitons to try and select the job or job field as without them you may not qualify for something so they won't even accept you into it.  He is also keeping in touch with you so that he can foster a good relationship with you and trying to stay on your scope.  Believe it or not but recruits who flunk out and/or are discharged are tracked and a recruiter that shows a high number of recruits who this happens to usually is taken to task or can even lose his job in recruiting and forced to go back to normal duty.  Having higher test scores makes you more desirable in their eyes and a better chance for successfully completing your training.

  3. You scored very well. The Military only requires a minimal score of 30, so a 77 is well above average.

Personally, however, I would not take the recruit call as anything more than a congradulations. Make up your own mind as to weather or not you'd consider military duty.
