I've recently started having minor to major pain in my kidney and groin areas along with what feels like maybe constipation or gas (not sure as I've never really had a problem in those areas). Does anyone have any clue what's wrong with me? I have a very physical job and I'm afraid I may have pulled something there and I don't want to damage anything any further if there is a problem.

  1. You could possibly have a kidney stone,do you drink a lot of soda or tea.If you do have a kidney stone they are very painful to pass, you should see your doctor about this and make sure, because he could give you something to shrink the stone a little bit before it passes.

  2. You've got kidney stones....I would go see a Urologist so they can give you something to help with the pain....they normally tell you to let them pass...hope you get to feeling better!

  3. a kidney stone, perhaps?

and yes, the pain is from the "loin to groin"

    scroll down to the symptoms.

  4. You could have anything from a strain or pulled muscle, kidney or bladder infection, swollen kidney, appendicitis (right side only), kidney stone, tumor.... the list is rather long, and all of these require you to see your doctor.  At the least, you should have a CT scan and/or IVP to determine the cause, and also a blood test to see if you have an elevated white blood cell count.

Your doctor will need to know if you've had any injuries lately that might have caused the pain, and when it started.  A punch in the gut, lifting something the wrong way, etc.   If it was work-related, it's possible worker's comp may cover the cost.

  5. Please go to the Doctor to get it checked out

  6. Drink a lot more water.

Or at least I use to have the same problem, and that helped me a lot.

  7. You really need to go see a doctor.  As far as I know, there are very few nerves serving the area, so it is common for back pain to appear as kidney pain and vice versa.  Even a doctor might take some time to come up with a diagnosis, especially if it came on gradually.
