ive seen about 3 red belly Parana's in a 55 gal tank before n is that enough space for them because i may do the same and how many can i keep in a 33 gallon tank?

  1. 1 adult red belly needs 29 gallons of water alone with weekly water changes and good filter.

    1 red for a 33gallon

    you might be able to keep 3 reds in a 55 gallon but this will really depend more on how you care for them and what equipment you use and how and what you feed them..

    but your luck in a 55gallon will be short lived because they will eat one another and adult fish are about 12 inches. the lack off room will result in fights over space .


  2. 55 gallons is not enough, and piranhas live in bigger shoals. A 33 gallon cannot house one piranha seeing they LIVE in SHOALS.

  3. you can have 1 piranha in a 33 gallon tank if you want, so whut if they live in shaols there not gonna kill themeselves because theyr unhappy there not in a group
