I've seen a single "large" floating object in front of the moon that broke into about 7 smaller objects that drifted away and then came back together into the same single object from before over several minutes. Then this thing left slowly. The whole process took about 30 minutes start to finish and was following the moon as it disappeared under the horizon. Anyone seen something like this or have any ideas? It's strange to me because I really experienced this along with two other friends.

  1. Not that I'm doubting what you say is true, but human observation is notoriously unreliable. During this whole 30 minutes didn't someone think to grab a video camera.

  2. I think maybe I had a similar experience. Friends and I were chilling in the back yard one evening around dusk. Then, as we looked into the sky, chatting, it appeared to us like numerous points of light started moving away from a central point in the sky. It looked like the stars had suddenly become unhappy in their usual residences and had started moving out. It was bizarre.

We didn't witness these points come back together again, though.

  3. i haven't personally seen it, but people have been seeing strange things on the moon for a long time now.... (1500's and earlier) some see huge dark clouds that cover the moon, others have seen light orbs move across it's surface, and i can't remember who, but he was a very respected astrronomistt.... he jotted down how in the dead of night there was a huge flash on the surface of the moon, and it was bright enough to light up the sky as if the sun were out (his exact words)

  4. d**n!  That is strange.  Did you take any pictures of it?

  5. In science, evidence = proof. Anything else is just theory.

  6. I have witnessed a similar thing, about 22-23 years ago, as well. However, I had just downed 2/3 of a 750ml bottle of scotch in about 10 minutes, so there is a pretty good chance that had something to do with it...(I think I saw it just before I passed out...)
