dad's house.

i use pubblic transport which is very cheap in my country(30 euro a month all busses ,all trains) compared to fuel 1,60 euro a litre.

i now have 800 euro more(after tax)(i also give a small amount to my mum and dad) come end of the month and practically no expenses(now that i don't have a car)

i am 31, do you think i made a wise decision?

  1. Theres a track winding back to that old fashioned track, mommy and daddy are waiting for me! How are you going to have s*x

  2. i suppose its cheaper but living with your mum and dad well thats another matter lol

  3. At 31 it would have been nice if you could be standing on your own two feet, rather than relying on your parents. However, I don't know under what circumstances you had to move back to your parents, so can't really comment.

  4. no..

  5. It depends on what you want in life, many people need their Independence and would never go back to their parents but if you are saving then its a sensible thing to do.

  6. I personally think it was a good idea, a lot of people are moving back to the parents house due to money problems. I would suggest saving a little so when you do leave again you have money for a deposit or getting a new car. Your saving yourself a lot of debt issues whichin the long run has to be good for you. Stay were you are until you can comfortable afford to move out. Its what parents are for, there not parents till your 18 then there job is done. they are there for life and im sure there happier you living at home then getting into money problems!

  7. I'd do it..... you are releasing yourself from all that c**p that most people have to deal with like car payments, car insurance, gas prices, apartment bills.....

    I wish I was you.....

Keep doing it and saving money as much as u can and then buy a house or something so u wont have to work anymore because you'll live in the apartment, rent the house and keep taking public transportation...... sometimes it's too much hassle owning a car.

  8. Great man, i can travel via Bicycle to my workplace but i use motorbike, i will use bicycle from today, u are initiating a great thing !

  9. Well, you are saving lots of money - but at the end of the day you are in your 30s and living with your mum and dad.  That cannot be seen as good...

  10. Why would you want to live with your parents at 31?

What are you going to do with all this extra money?

Seems a bit pointless to me.

  11. From a financial perspective it's a great move. You've focused on the highest costs of living - home and car.

From other perspectives, you quality of life might be a bit lower because no car or own space. You may appear unsuccessful because living with parents.
