  1. Im on the same train as you! Im going to my first eventing show this weekend and i feel kinda at a loss or something! For stadium, im wearing a white polo...because its going to be really hot. And about Dressage...well i dont really know about the polo shirt thing either...i just asked a question about that a few minutes ago. Hope you do well!

    :)

  2. Your dressage selections are fine, except you can't use polos. Yes, you can wear your GPA helmet.

Your cross country selections are also fine. If you want, you can get a cover for your helmet in purple and black to tie your look together. Make sure your splint boots will not retain water after the water jump.

From stadium, your selections are fine, but you do need a coat. You can wear your dressage clothes again for stadium if you don't want to have a separate outfit. This can save time if you have to change quickly and you are at an event that does dressage then stadium. You don't necessarily need a separate pad or splint boots. You can re-use your dressage or cross country pad, and your cross country boots. Again, this just saves time during equipment changes and saves space in the trailer.

There is a new rule this year that says you can wear a neat shirt with collar for all three phases if they are contested on the same day.

For the full rules on attire, here is a link to the rule book: http://www.usef.org/documents/ruleBook/2...

Chapter 113 is Dress and Chapter 114 is saddlery.

All the answers above are for recognised shows. For schooling shows you can just wear a polo or jersey with conservative breeches for all three phases.

  3. well for dressage; do you really need the whither pad?

i would use ( well i do use, according to colour of horse, but on a dun i use):

    DRESSAGE:

Black/brown dressage saddle = matching colour girth and stirrup leathers,

Black/brown snaffle bridle or double bridle

    White dressage pad

You could use leather tendon boots etc, but not polo wraps as they look un tidy.

white/beige jodhs, black jacket, white or pastel colour (light cream, pink etc) shirt, stock with pin, black hat, black gloves and maybe a showing cane if you need it, long boots.

and yh u can wear a GP if u want to!

    XC:

    GP/Jumping saddle

bridle with a bit you can stop in! (maybe a running martingale or breast plate to keep the saddle forward)

saddle pad (in your chosen colour)

over reach boots, brushing or competition boots (splint boots dont offer much protection to the front of the leg if they hit a jump)

    white/ beige jodhs

    Long boots

Hat (with chosen colour silk for a skull cap)

    gloves

    whip

(studs on the horse if u need some)

    number vest

    t-shirt/jumper

    body protector

    Medical armband

    JUMPING:

jumping/ gp saddle, matching colour girth

bridle with controlable bit, maybe martingale etc (as b4 in jumping section)

saddle pad (most people put a half sheepskin pad under the saddle, ontop of the pad aswel)

hat (with velvet cover, or a proper lightweight competition hat etc)

Black or Blue jacket, tie or stock, White or pastel colour shirt, beige/white johds, gloves, whip

Dont think i have left anything out! but you should be plaited for most phases ( i dont for xc as i like something to hold on to lol), studs for jumping are a good idea. Competition boots give support all round, which are especially good for xc. A medical armband will be needed, aswel as other small items.... but i cant think of anything else that is that important at the moment.

anyway have fun and good luck

  4. Dressage: yes I would wear the GPA. it shouldnt be a problem. The tie is called a stock tie. I wouldnt wear a polo unless it is REALLY hot and show management waves jackets.

Show Jumping: Jacket or polo will kind of depend on the show. I would go with the polo but some shows might be picky about it. I doubt they can disqualify you though and it wont affect your time.

I dont think you are missing anything but YOUR boots. You prpbably have them but forgot to list them.

  5. for show jumping at some shows you can wear a polo, but to be safe i always just wear like a tank top and bring both my polo and jacket and see what i need to wear.

alot of times i just wear a ratcatcher english show shirt w/ collar.
