I've wanted to join the Coast Guard since 10th grade. Now I'm graduated & I want change in my life.?

I've got some problems that came up recently though. My mom is addicted to Somas..no telling what else. I've got two younger twin brothers. I feel bad just leaving them, but I know it would be the best for me..for us. What do ya'll think. & my dad he works out of town, I love him to death but I wish he would just try harder.

I hate to tell you this , but whether you are at home or in the coast guard, your mother will still have to fight addiction. you can't make your mother stop taking pills, neither can your brothers, or your father. rehab can help a lot, but ultimately it's up to the user to kick the addiction for good, or suffer constant drug binges for the rest of their life.

the only thing your family can do is get her help, support her and hopefully she makes the right decision and gets clean. if you want to join the coast guard, that's great. if you want to put it off to be there more often for your mother, that's good too. you have to decide what's more important right now.
