I have been wearing contacts for about 5 or 6 years but recently got a new eye prescription and they told me they longer made the contacts I wear. I have tried a few new brands out but they simply dry out my left eye (it is a toric lens for astigmatism). Could I have a problem with my eye or am I just unable to get used to a different material in the lens itself? I cannot keep it in my left eye for more than a half hour but my right eye (normal contact) feels fine. I have been interning in a datacenter this summer which uses a complex air conditioning system and the problem has gotten worse since being here. Any ideas?

  1. Sounds like you are just going to have to keep trying different brands in your left eye until you find something that is going to be comfortable.  Do you remember what brand you wore before or what brands have been tried?

  2. The two best for dry eyes are proclear toric and Oasys for astigmatism.  Ask to try one of these if you haven't already...
