I AM ADDICTED TO SUBOXONE AND NOW XANAX. IT ALL STARTED WHEN I HAD SURGURY AND THE DOCTOR KEPT PRESCRIBING ME MORE AND MORE LORACETS 10MG, THEN ONE DAY HE TOLD ME HEY WE CANNOT GIVE YOU ANYMORE MEDICATIONS AND BY THEN I HAD REALIZED THAT I WAS ADDICTED TO LORACET 10MG (ALSO BY THIS POINT I WAS TAKING BETWEEN 12-15 PILLS DAILY). THE FIRST DAY, I TRIED TO DEAL WITH THE WITHDRAWL SYMPTOMS , BUT I SOON REALIZED THAT THE WITHDRAWL SYMPTOMS WERE TO DIFFICULT FOR ME TO DEAL WITH ( IT WAS HORRIBLE). I COULD NOT JUST DEAL WITH THE WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS BECAUSE I COULDNT DEAL WITH IT, BUT I ALSO HAD WORK (12 HOURS A DAY / 5 DAYS A WEEK). SO DID SOME RESEARCH AND I FOUND OUT ABOUT SUBOXONE, YES IT DOES TAKE THE WITH DRAWAL SYMPTOMS AWAY, BUT I HAVE BEEN ON SUBOXONE FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS NOW AND I AM SICK OF BEING DEPENDENT ON NARCOTICS. I AM CURRENTLY TRYING TO GET OFF OF SUBOXONE SO MY DOCOTOR PRESCRIBED ME XANAX TO DEAL WITH THE WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS OF "GETTING OFF OF " SUBOXONE. I HAVE NOW BEEN TAKING XANAX FOR ABOUT 3 MONTH, I AM ALMOST OFF OF SUBOXONE, BUT NOW I AM ADDICTED TO XANAX. THE WHOLE THING IS JUST A HUGE (MONEY SPENDING) MESS. THE SYMPTOMS OF SUBOXONE AND XANAX ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT, BUT THEY ARE BOTH HORRIBLE. I READ A POST SAYING THAT PEOPLE USING PRESCRIPTION PAIN KILLERS ARE "STUPID" "IGNORANT" , BUT YOU CAN NOT SAY THAT ABOUT ANYONE UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN THROUGH THE TROUBLE OF BEING ADDICTED TO ANY OF THESE SUBSTANCES. IT WAS NOT MY FAULT THAT I AM ADDICTED TO THIS MEDICATION AND NOW IT HAS COST ME OVER THE TWO YEAR ABOUT $3,000 + DOLLARS (ITS REDICULIOUS), THE SUMMARY OF MY WHOLE DOCUMENT IS THAT ADDICTION IS HORRIBLE FOR ANYONE WHO HAS TO DEAL WITH IT AND UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN THROUGH IT YOUR-SELF ID REALLY APPRICIATE IT IF YOU DID NOT SAY THINGS THAT YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT.

PS: JUST IMAGING SOMETHING HAPPENING TO YOU OR YOUR FAMILY THAT JUST TAKES TOTAL CONTROL OVER YOUR LIFE BEFORE YOU SPEAK BADLY ABOUT PEOPLE WHO ARE ADDICTED TO PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION. IT IS HORRIBLE AND I WISH THAT NOONE WOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS IN THEIR LIFE TIME.

-THANK YOU FOR READING AND IF YOU HAVE ANY POST THAT YOU FEEL SHOULD BE POSTED,THEN PLEASE POST

  1. Xanax addiction is probably easier to recover from than the other substances, which is why it was prescribed. You need to keep moving to less toxic drugs. Atarax could be next. Then start to reduce dosage.

  2. tackle one problem at a time. deal with the suboxone first. reason being that suboxone withdrawal can induce a number of symptoms, one of which is anxiety. this is where the benzo can help. give yourself a good deal of time to taper off of suboxone (the length of the taper depends on how long you were on it and what your dosage is). after you deal with the suboxone WDs then you can deal with xanax.

and don't let anyone tell you that subs have mild withdrawals. that's a load of BS! Suboxone withdrawals can be just as bad as a full opioid, except that it lasts longer.

PS: Xanax is one of the WORST substances to be addicted and one of the hardest to stop. Anyone who claims it is easy to stop Xanax has no clue whatsoever about it. Take it very slowly and seek the help of an addiction specialist who will see to it that you taper slowly and safely. The poster above me (DynoDikk) is correct about Xanax withdrawal being able to kill you. It can.

Watch one of my video's. Xanex withdrawal is h**l and benzo withdrawal can kill you! And mixing it with Suboxone is not that great of an idea. ANd man I been there. I weaned off of 200mg's of methadone as prescribed for pain. ANd physical dependence is no joke and opiate addiction should be seperate from wussy alcohol withdraw or cocaine. You do not crave this stuff, you NEED it .

  4. sounds to me like you need detox and rehab. many people suffer from addiction. it doesn't make you stupid. get yourself help right away before you get hurt or hurt your loved ones. trust me, it's horrible to watch someone you love slowly kill themselves.
