I AM JUST "g*y"!! SO THEN WHY AM I INCLUDED IN THE "GLBT" CATEGORY?? ?

So, i am a g*y man who is very comfortable with my sexual orientation. And if i was going to be put in any kind of "category" or "labeled", i think that i should be put in the "g*y/L*****n" category and leave it at that. But for some reason, g**s and lesbians have been grouped with bi-sexuals and transgendered as well. WHY?? I mean, i really cannot identify with transgendered people because i DO NOT at all feel like i am one gender "trapped" in the body of another gender. i am a g*y guy that is content with my gender. i really cannot identify with bi-sexuals either because since i am just g*y and my sexual attraction is only for other men. why aren't bi's and transgenders grouped with "straights" (heterosexuals) ?? or why aren't bi's and transgenders put in their own category or have their own label?? g**s and lesbians are "homosexuals", people that are sexually attracted to their own gender. and yeah, i am a homosexual!

so yeah, i would appreciate any and all comments about my questions. Thank you for your time!!

  1. Because the struggles of GLBT are the same. Coming out, discrimination, acceptance, non-acceptance and the struggles that come with it.

From what you're writing, you're being discriminatory as well. Think about it.

Another thing to think about is politics. A united front makes for a stronger power to be reconned with.

The bottom line, labels are for cereal boxes and clothes. You define who you are, no one else, so why worry?

  2. sometimes minorities that face similar types of discrimination (from similar *******) have 2 form coalitions 2 gain the numbers (& power) 2 affect change !

  3. It makes sense to group g*y/L*****n with bisexual, since they're all orientations. Trangender's I've asked about seperating before and the answers I got were basically that it makes more sense for all of us who are struggling with being accepted with our "outside of the norm" definitions of ourselves to be supportive and inclusive of one another rather than trying to seperate it out. I hope sometime that there's enough of a cause to seperate it out by orientation, gender, or whatever factor someone wants to identify by, but until then I wound't begrudge having an inclusive group.

  4. Society labels us...it is your choice what label if any you choose to wear...but yes we are all grouped together....which is fine by me....the more the merrier!

  5. Trans ppl can be g*y as well. so to group trans ppl with the straights would be unfair. Since I am a trannyfag I am FTM who likes butch lesbians or other FTM's. My gf is a butch L*****n who likes other butches and FTM's. So to group us away from the g**s,lesbians would be unfair since we are a minority just like the g**s who need more understanding just like g**s.

  6. By this logic you shouldn't even be with lesbians since you're just g*y and your sexual attraction is only for other men. Considering lesbians don't care for men that way you shouldn't be grouped with them, right?

  7. Because we as g*y men do not fall into the typical male mold.  We are grouped together through exclusion by the majority.  Yes it would be nice if we could all just join the Male or Female column but there are individuals, who are the majority, who do not want us there, and so we must subcatagorize ourselves as g*y males.  Divided g*y men are weak, however with the political and social support of the LBT's we form a more powerful and more enclusive whole of society.  We are doing it as a political statement.  If you do not wish to support T's and B's then feel free to not.  BUt keep in mind that those who you do not support today will not support you tomorrow.

Ah...  lol hope I was atleast not insulting.

Besides, we all know B's are just G or L anyway and T's kinda....  well they transend GLB entirely!  So...  meh...

  8. Why are you prejudiced against transsexuals and bisexuals?  At some point the whole community got together to work for some of the same goals because we just might be able to get things done together that we can't get working separately.  You are not required to be Trans or Bi in order to fit in this group.  Be yourself.

Most places do now put the GLBT community into the same category.  It doesn't hurt you, and it might give you an opportunity to learn something about other people.  Besides that, some transsexual people also consider themselves to be g*y.

    Frankly, your attitude is offensive.
