  2. YA YOU CAN FIND ALL THESE STUFF AT THE MALL .THIS DOESNT COSTS MORS THAN 150Rs.

  3. Yes, in India everything is avalable for the life,   you are welcome

  4. Hello my dear friend,

In India there are 1000s of  6month olds live without any problem. If you find any difficulty, then we are here to assist. Don't worry. Come, as soon as you can.

  5. u havent mentioned what city.  in most citieis you get everything. as u move from tier 1 - tier 2 - tier 3 - villages, the variety reduces and also the quality.  in metros, you find all the leading brands available - u can go to a shopers stop for eg which has an exclusive tie up with UK's mother care

u can also get things like a crib customized - i got my babies lovely cribs from connaught place in delhi.

    retail (shoppers stop) prices are

Crib with matteress etc - around 15000

    high chair - 3000 - 5000 Rs

    Rocker - 2000 - 3000

    car seat - 3000 - 5000

    stroller - 3000 odd

there are other local / chinese brands also available, but quality would be suspect.   in delhi for eg, you could go to gaffar market which stockst both high as well as low brands

  6. dear friend,

You are welcome to India. Never mind if you have a 6 months baby. You will get all the desired things/facilities at an affordable price, beyond your imagination.

  7. We lived in India for several years. The baby cribs etc, that are available in India in stores like "Pantaloons" etc. are crappy compared to the US standard ones. fortunately we carried our own and had no problems in going in to India or coming out of there, as airlines will allow you to carry baby car seats (that double as cribs) on board.

Highchair: forget about it. In India what you get is not of the same standard as in US/the west. take your own.

The great thing about living in India with a baby is that you get to have nannies at a very reasonable rate!

  8. all are available at cheaper rates. you can find any where in INDIA

  9. Amy,

First of all, welcome to India. Further, you will be surprised to know that you will get the best of baby care products - the international brands and quality. My yongest is eight now, so do not know the price off hand. But let me promise you that you will get competitive prices.

    All the best!

  10. Welcome to India Amy,

  11. Yes they are all freely available. You dont need to carry all the way to India and find it cheaper here.

  12. Hi,

You can get all the baby products like a crib, playpen, high chair , stroller etc etc in India too. You will get them at malls and bigger stores in big cities. But you may not get the international brands and the quality is also an issue.

Even thought some people here mentioned that you might get them cheaper, its not always the case considering the quality of cheap items.

I have bought a single stroller for 2000Rupees that is about 50USD , and it did not last more than 6 months. Its folding mechanism had a problem, the wheel locks broke and seat reclining thing wasn't working well. We did not even use it everyday.

So i would say take along small thing like stoller/ travel playpen.

Instead of a high chair , u can take a booster seat ( Safety First brand-strap on seat with swing tray), from wallmart/ kmart, thats real steal (just 12-15$) and it can be attached to any dining chair and used as a high chair. This chair package is so small it can easuly fit in your check-in baggage.

But, you get really affordable labor there .So i would say for bigger items - check out crib/highchair/rocker that are available there and if you don't like them you can hire a carpenter and get them made as you want. :)

    Hope this helps!
