I AM REALLY SCARED AND NEED HELP!!!!!

OK, so about a week ago I got a cold and I had a stuffy nose and i lost my voice for about a day. Now, i am afraid i have lost my singing voice. i do not sound wat i used to sound like (in my head) and idk i just have a wierd feeling. i do have throat congestion but it has been here for about 3 days already. is it possible to lose your singing voice from a cold? if not, wen will the congestion go away? and wat can i do to regain my voice?

I don't think that you lost your singing voice nor is it possible to lose it from a silly cold. don't worry. the congestion will probably go away maybe a few days but I'm not sure because I'm not a doctor so i suggest you ask a doctor about that one. also your voice will regain gradually just try to not use your voice for awhile. Hope i helped. Feel better :)


  2. You should probably go to a doctor. It's probably nothing serious, but you want to be on the safe side.

You need to talk to your doctor.  I've never heard of a singer lose their voice permanently from a cold before.  I went to school with over a hundred singers, I've sang in choirs and something like that is unheard of.  If talking to the doctor doesn't ease your mind then you should see a throat specialist.  

    I've lost my singing voice before due to constant congestion.  So, I understand how you feel.  With practice and patience my voice came back.  Don't strain your voice trying to get it back.
