  1. Performance and FWD Impala's don't go together. But that's just my opinion since I'm from the generation when the SS logo meant something other than being use as a marketing tool. Be that as it may the 3800 V-6 is damned near bullet proof. Actually one of the best engines GM has ever produced. It will go down in history as a worthy companion to Chevy's inline 6's. The engine will outlast the car. But please don't use FWD, V-6, and four doors in the same sentence with the word "performance" ever again!!!!


  2. The fuel mileage is good around 17 to 19 around town and up to 28 on the freeway. The performance is good for a car of that size. I have a 2001 LS and the only parts I have had to replace is the battery and one small component of the steering col. and oil and filters  

  3. That engine is very nice, but not in that car. I'd reconsider. Look into a Buick Regal of that same year. That's a much better looking car. The Impala was redesigned for 05 because that look was outdated.
