  1. are you connecting your PC to a broadband modem? you will need to go to your tools bar in your explorer and select internet options and choose connections. make sure you have never dial out and that your lan connections are automatic.

    Your line should never be busy if your connecting to DSL unless your are connecting to the wrong part (phone part) of the connection from the DSL.


  2. Microshaft say this is the cause--This problem can occur if you attempt to connect to your ISP using Microsoft Outlook Express, or by double-clicking the Dial-Up Networking connection to your ISP.

    Are you sure you have a dsl modem or a old 56k modem?

  3. Your computer is apparently trying to use a dial-up connection.

    I suggest you contact  your ISP who can talk you through the setup of your connection.
