I Am Seventeen and in need of a car

I'm seventeen and i'm looking to buy my first car

I'm really busy with school stuff so i don't have time for a job but my mom will give me 1000$ for a car

I need to find a small four door car with good gas mileage and doesn't look like a box?

any suggestions?

You won't get anything pretty and in perfect condition for $1000, but you could get a $500 beater and fix it up with the money left over. But make sure it wouldn't cost a whole lot to get it running when you take a look at it.

I agree with the answer above me. I was in your situation a while back. I had $2,000 to purchase a vehicle, but couldn't find something reliable. Every car either had problems, HIGH mileage, or something that broke. Of course you may be able to purchase something that is reliable, it is just much more rare and harder to find. Look for cars like Honda Accords, Nissan, or Toyota Corollas that will fit your budget. You may be able to even go to automobile auctions or towing yards and find something decent. My Dad gave me $1,000 though on top of my $2,000 and that made the difference. I found something reliable. Just take your time looking around and make good decisions when looking or choosing a future car. Good luck!!

for a 1000 dollars your gonna get a problem on wheels, you need at least 3000-4000 to get a reliable car. if i was you i wouldnt buy a 1000 car you wont get much out of it and will always be spending money fixing it
