standard Smirrnoff has too much alcohol to freeze (had mine in the freezer for months)  so either your freezer is so cold it can freeze alcohol, or you bought watered-down vodka.

There really is such a thing as bootleg or replica liquor.  I'd start shopping at another liquor store.  They may not even know they are buying the stuff.  Like with handbags, the counterfeiters are so good, its hard to tell.

Was it Smirnoff vodka or the smirnoff mixed drink, like their smirnoff ice triple filtered? The triple filtered will freeze!!

No question, your Vodka got watered down.

Yeah 80 proof Vodka does not freeze in general kitchen freezers (I believe -20C).   You either got Vodka light, watered down Vodka, or have a massive freezer unit.   I hope you got a massive freezer unit.
