Name: Buffy

Age: 1 1/2 years

Gender: Female

Description: Long legs, perky pink ears, the right ear has a black spot from the ear to the brow line, bluish silver eyes, white fur with brown/gray spots here and there, medium length white whiskers, pink nose with 2 tiny black spots, black and brown/gray striped/spotted tail, bright pink pads.

I don't know what kind of cat it is, people say a calico but I'm really not sure. I think I gave a pretty good description of her, though.

  1. She sounds like either an Egyptian Mau or calico. Calico's are usually female, and mau's are a rare breed.

  2. it would probably be a lot easier if you had a picture f her,...but she might just be a mix of certain breeds

  3. determining a cat's breed can be difficult because there could be multiple blood lines. I found these sites to be very helpful. Become familiar with the height, weight, length of fur, shape of face, length of tail, spots/stripes, number of colors in fur, and i guess a few more things could be key evidence.  Your vet should be able to help you too.

  4. I'm almost positive it's a Calico cat. They are gorgeous cats!

  5. I agree with lola on the picture post comment.  additionally, the local library has reference books filled with hundreds of pics and descriptions of various breeds of cat...check one out and see which matches your kitty the best!

  6. Most likely a moggie by the sound of your description, calico is a bit like tabby it's not really a breed its just a cat with that pattern on it,a bit like say you saved a cat from the rescue centre, it's brown with ticked fur, and looks a lot like an abyssinian, but that doesn't mean that it is one. Yes your description is very good but to me it just sounds like a mix.

  7. Most likely a mix. The fur sounds like a calico, but the eyes for calico's are traditionally brown. It's a mix most likely. But if you want to be sure, there are cat breed books you can buy at Barnes & Noble. Or you could look it up on Google or something.

    Love your kitty!!!

  8. most likely not a certain breed. Most cats arnt.
