I Cant Decide Between Coast Guard or Marines

Question

See w/ marines u get an *** kickin body plus heck once a marine always a marine. But with coast guard u dont really have that other person shooting at you, and your saving lives. Which one do you think is the better choice?

You could be on a ice breaker or a buoy tender in the north atlantic or the middle of a cat 5 hurricane. Or you could go around the world and do embassy duty or be stationed at the white house. It's up to you.Sure the marines get shot at. But if you had to be in a firefight who would you want to be with, a group of marines or a some shallow water sailors?

Well both are military and it does not matter weather you are in either service you get deployed out just the same and who ever said shallow water sailor obviously knows nothing about the Guard considering they are the oldest military out there and has been in ever war america has been apart of. They were also the first ones to send off the first canons in the civil war as well as a huge asset to the vietnam war. If you talk to a Coastie who is on a cutter he will tell you that he has been most likely all over the world and if my memory serves me right there is a cutter in Asia so shallow water yeah right.

Either way, you may go to iraq. The  the coast guard is responsible for port security over there.

Better choice for you seems coast guard..I dont understand how you can be stuck between the two branches...The two are 100 percent opposites.

If you enjoy being home and still making a difference and serving your country, coast guard

if you enjoy travel and the chance to kill others, join the marines

Both are dangerous, both are needed.  Think it through and for gods sake dont make a judgement that will affect your entire life based on us goobers at Yahoo Answers.

well they both save lives

dont join the marines if you just want a body join a gym

marines are combat oriented

and yes like dude said both are needed

both take self motivation and discipline........

um....also....like it really depends on how hard your willing to work...

ive never met a marine who wasn't proud I think marines are the proudest branch of the military and I love that
