I Cut My Finger On A Piece Of Glass While Doing Dishes Yesterday, About 17 Hours Ago. I Imediatly Rinsed It Off And Put Pressure On It For About 10 Min. I Then Put 3 Bandaids On It, For Pressure, And Also Because The Blood Seeped Threw The First Bandaid. It Never Stopped Bleeding Long Enough For Me To Examine The Cut. But I Went To Change The Bandaid Just Now, And It Started To Bleed Again. Do I Need Stitches?

  1. You may need stitches if nothing is stopping the bleeding. But before you go {you don't want to waste gas lol} call  local hospital and see if you can get ahold of a nurse and ask them first.

  2. If the cut is deep and the bleeding just won't stop, then most likely you do need stitches.  Call your dr and ask the phone nurse what she thinks.

  3. Probably if you would just type normally it would put less stress on your finger. Capitalizing every word makes your typing hard to read without adding any meaning.

The bleeding had stopped, but you started it again by taking off the bandage.

You should not have changed the bandage so quickly. It had started to heal and you pulled the wound open again. Bandage it up again, and wrap a piece of adhesive tape around it, snugly but not tightly. It will stop bleeding again. Then wait a few days before carefully removing the bandage. Keep it clean and dry so you won't have to change the bandage before then. When you do go to remove the bandage, cut it off with a pair of scissors on the opposite side of the wound, then pull toward the wound, not away from it.
