No more H1-b visas for the coming Fiscal Year 2009.  They have already been issued and those who received the visas will be able to enter the US in October.  Applications for Fiscal Year 2010 will start being processed in April 2009 for entry to the US after October 1, 2009.

You should note the unemployment situation in the US.  Over 400,000 Americans per week are being laid off (latest week was 455,000).  Companies with employees on H1-b and other employment visas are not renewing those visas or are terminating them outright.  With so many Americans out of work, it is becoming more and more difficult for companies to prove there are no US citizens qualified and available for the job, and without that labor certification, there is no way an employer can file an application for an employment visa.

School is out.  Your student visa has expired by now.  If you overstay that visa, you will be barred from re-entry and not eligible for any future visa, including H1-b, L-1, etc.  You need to return home urgently -- the longer you overstay, the longer your bar to re-entry.
