I hit my bunnie ( not hard) because she bit me. I've never hit any of my pets before , and it was like a rush of anger through me. I don't want her to be scared of me forever. And I gave her a carrot to apologize but she wouldnt take it. what do I do ?!?!

  1. Oh no she hates you forever. Kidding. You'll have to slowly gain back her trust, a simple carrot won't do it.

  2. u r going to have to gain her trust back   everyday spend some time giving carrots treats petting  and  ur bunny will be back in no time

  3. thats so bad. donnot do that again. leave ehr in her age for a while shes prob shookin up, try again tomorrow

  4. its ok shes was just sort of scared

  5. I would be really nice and let her have time to trust you again.

  6. I know this aventually`t sound right but just be nice to her, like do her favourite things and then she will eventually understand that you are sorry.

  7. It's actually quite simple...kinda. It is a normal reaction to retaliate when you're injured, it's natural human reflexes. What happened was that when you hit the rabbit, you made yourself appear like a predator to it. What you need to do is just treat your rabbit like it is a new pet, and just continue to feed it and care for it, without picking it up until it trusts you again. It should eventually stop regarding you as a predator again after a while.

  8. Animals usually dont hold grudges.. I think your rabbit still likes you and probably forgot all about it!

It was an accident, and accidents do happen, especially when you get hurt and angry. Just try not to do it again

  9. If she bites you again squeeze water on them. They hate water and I've heard this is what you should do. HOpe I helped

  10. let it go. she wont be mad at you forever. she knows you care for her. just take care of her. spend some time with her just like you used to. you will be fine

    :)

  11. Well, if she bit you she deserves to be flicked, I don't hit my rabbit, but I flick him i nthe nose, theres no need to do anything other, than pet her, and let her know you didn't mean any harm to her.

  12. To a pet like that small, and usually scared especially when people stick their hands in her face or in her cage...you don't hit.

You can just try putting your hand near her and showing her that its ok..if she runs away from your hand talk to her sweetly and wait for her to come to you...until she trusts you again...but never hit her again

  13. Thats what you should have done. Negative reinforcement for a bad action. That should show the bunny what happens if it bites. This is what happens in the animal world.

Of course, the bunny may have bitten you because you did something it didn't like.

  14. If she bit you she might be trying to tell you that she is not feeling well. Have a vet take a look at her to see if that is the case.

  15. She will forget about it. Don't worry. I think what you did was a normal reaction to pain not because you are a bad person.

  16. She probably didn't take the carrot because carrots (and other vegetables) are bad for their digestive system and can lead to chronic diarrhea and other problems.  And if one of my many rabbits nips at me, I do bat them on the nose very softly so they learn not to do it again.  As long as it wasn't a hard smack, it should be fine.
