  1. the mother will kill it.....are you on medication and forgot to take it

  2. if you can keep it in the basket with the compost and place it on top of a radiater this is keep it extra warm and check on it every couple of hours for cracks thats all you can really do until it hatches/if it hatches.... you can always take it to the vet they may be able to help you further.

  3. your personal experience should have told you to leave the birds egg alone

  4. put it back and leave it alone

  5. Birds will NOT kill their eggs or chicks that have been handled by a human..this is an absolute old wives tale, birds do not have a highly developed sense of smell and will have no clue that you touched their egg.  Not sure what "personal experience" you are refering to..but you touching an egg or chick in the past did NOT lead to the parents abandoning it. Is the egg shell hard like a birds egg, or soft and leathery like a reptile egg.  Are you sure there is not actully a nest in the flower basket?  House Finch will often build nests in hanging plants and other man-made objects.  I suggest you put the egg back in case this is an active nest.  If it is not a nest and the egg has been abandoned...then it is most likely dead.

  6. All you can do is keep it warm if you can't give it back, but if you know where the nest is then you really should return it. It needs to be turned every once and awhile also.

  7. OK! If it's a snake then it may be taimable (if not posionous)

It could very well be a bird. Buy a cage, either way! Good luck! Use a tank (just in case it's a snake) but if it's a bird when it hatches then use a bird cage! Use one of those repitile lights because it needs heat to hatch. Or maybe a heating blanket! If it's a bird then it will eat worms and when it gets older you can wean it onto bird food. It probally will need water either way! If it's a green garden snake it will eat insects but if it's a bigger snake then it will eat rats/mice! You could always find it a good home with a reptile loveror shelter/vet/store if it's a big snake because UH! GROSS (foodwise) plus I have a rat and hate the thought of that! If you don't care for bids either then find a birdlover shelter/store/vet If you want to know what it is then go and ask a vet in the meanwhile call this vet and describe it: (919)-844-9166

Also Google the description and post (on yahoo ans.) a pic.

  8. An abandoned egg is probably not fertile and not going to hatch. Birds don't leave their eggs alone for predators to find unless they are frightened off of the nest or the egg is not viable.

  9. Keep it warm. It's unlikely that it will hatch, but it might. Find something that will provide heat for it, such as a hot lamp or something...

  10. u need to keep it warm so wrap it up in towels blankets etc.

  11. flower baskets make great nests for birds. If it were mine i would let momma lay and hatch right there so i could be a witness of Gods work. Its amazing.

  12. i would "google" what it looks like  to see what kind of egg it is. Look for your area birds..then look at what kind of eggs they lay. After you find that out research how the mom would incubate the egg. Good luck!!

    =)

  13. try a heating lamp not too strong or a blanket to keep it warm

  14. look it up on the internet pictures of birds and its most likley not a snake they would have laid alot more... when you find your egg spieces it might tell you how arm you have to keep the egg...
