I GOT SPRAYED WITH PEPPER SPRAY!!!?

my brother sprayed my friend and I with expired pepper spray on my arms as a joke.

some of it got in my friend's mouth and now it's burning her throat and i started coughing.

can the pepper spray harm either of us?
