I HATE CONTACTS?

I really really hate contacts it takes me like 10 minutes to get used to them, n my eyes wil feel real wierd cuz of the liquid it stays in while in the contact case. i constantly beg my mom to take me into the eye doctor do i can get some glasses. Any suggestions of what to do? im about to put contacts in cuz im watching tv. i havent worn them in awhile. BUT AGAIN: what should i do??

hey, it's all cool.  if ya bug your mom enough she'll get ya some. seriously this happened to me before. i just kept buggin' her and she eventually gave in. i know how it is, i get pink eye when ever i put those suckers in.

why won't your mom let you have glasses?

maybe try getting another friend or relative to help you go to the eye doctor for specs ...

you should probably just practice putting them in and taking them out. thats what i thought when i got contacts but after a while i became a natural.

Contacts just like anything else take time to get used to,although I have never had them myself,my brother has them,and many of my friends have them as well.I think in any case,you should have a pair of eyeglasses just in case you have an eye infection,or if you lose a lens,or just plain need a day of rest from them.I hope I have helped!!!

Well, you should always have a pair of glasses in case you get an eye infection or run out of contacts.  Hopefully your mom can understand that.  

If you just got the contacts, give them a few more days.  Your eyes have to get used to them.  If you've had the contacts for a little while now and they are still uncomfortable, you really should see your optometrist.  You may be allergic to the contacts or to the solution.  They may also not be fitting correctly, which could be bad for the eyes.  Tell your mom that you would like to go back to the doctor because you are concerned with the health of your eyes.  Hopefully she will be concerned as well.  :)

Maybe you can convince your mother to take you to get glasses if you let her know that, even though you have contacts, it is strongly suggested for a person to have a set of glasses for "emergency use", in case you get pink eye, or scratch a cornea, rip or lose a contact, or any other reason you might not be able to wear your contacts for a while. You can help her out by looking for the sales on glasses they have periodically.

Let her know if you can't see well, your school work will suffer and you won't be able to get a decent job and you'll wind up homeless!

how bad is your eye site?

if your near site-- you can see close things, only put them in for viewing far things, like a vacation to the mountains, so you can see the view

if your far sighted, i would wear them almost all the time.

i am close site and i wear my glasses when: i am watching TV, in the car, biking, hiking, you know stuff i actually need to see before they're 5 feet in front of me... except the TV, but thats cuz i cant read the tv guide

Maybe you are allergic to contacts. I have been wearing contacts for like 10yrs and love them. I do not feel a thing and never have, not even the first time they went in. It also could be they aren't the right size for you. I think you should go back to your opthamologist and tell him what is going on.

How long have you had them for?

I really struggled at the start, but I really got used to them after a while.

I've had them for about 3 years now and wearing contacts instead of glasses really boosted my self confidence.

Stick with them, or else just tell your mom you really don't like them.  She'll listen to her daughter.
