1. Tell them that your finger is broken and you can't....

  2. no good i wouldnt do it

  3. just tell them

  4. I know you think your parents are being mean. What they asked you to do with a broken finger, is building character in you. They are trying to get acrsos to you is there will be several times in your life when things need done even if you don't feel like it,do it and get it done.Once you are older you will understand. Don't complain just do what they ask and do the best you can. They understand you have a broken finger and you can't do a perfect job.

  5. Do they know that your finger is broken? You really need to listen to yourself. Is this how you relate to them? Sounds to me like you are maybe a winny spoiled brat who has no respect for your parents.

  6. It doesn't sound like your broken finger is the real problem. It sounds like your parents thought your attitude was the problem. Complaining usually will not get you what you want. When you want something, you have to make the other person feel good about giving you what you want. That's called being assertive.

It seems pretty obvious that, broken finger or not, you did not want to shovel rock into buckets and carry 50 lbs uphill. Most people wouldn't want to either, but sometimes you have to do what you don't want to do.

A better approach would have been to ask your parents their ideas on the best way to accomplish the task with a broken finger. You could have tried their suggestions while they watched and let them come to their own conclusions about the difficulty your broken finger was causing. If, after calmly trying out different methods, and it still was not working well, they might have reconsidered. They would have felt good about giving you what you wanted. Complaining doesn't make them feel good, so they won't give you what you want.

I hope this helps in the future, but it looks like your parents disciplined you for an attitude problem, which means they are being good parents.
