I naturally have a high pitched voice, and I sound like SUCH a ditz when I talk because of it. I've tried so hard to lower my voice but then I just sound like a weird ditz. On top of it I have a strange accent because I'm from Minnesota. AND I had speach problems when I was younger and had to take speach lessons until I was 10. I'm tired of it because people NEVER take me seriously because of it. How can I change it?

  1. Someday, your voiced might be very influence in some sort of way, don't very regret your naturalness, becuase you may never know that you might need it. Don't be so self conscience, becuase people can tell if you are. Just be the wonderful you that God created, because there's only one YOU, and YOU can never be replaced. Never.

  2. I really don't think you CAN change it. I know a girl who kind of has a voice like your describing and so do her friends. BUT I respect her, and take her more seriously because of her actions and her sincerity. If you are a person to be taken seriously, it will come out in other things than just your voice :)

  3. Accept yourself as you are. Your voice will change as you get older. Just keep in mind that the teenage years are just as awkward for everyone else.

  4. ppl inc urslf has 2 take u as wat u are...u don't hv 2 feel tht ppl dunot take u seriousle jus' cuz u hv a high-pitched voice or u had 2 take speech lessons!u knw wat, many of d strong personalities of d world had such poor voice tht u wondr hw come ppl listened 2 them...so the pblm is not wat othrs think abt u,but wat YOU think abt urslf...ohk! u feel tht u got a poor voice.so what!!!u are wat u are and u hv 2 make ppl take u as YOU....

  5. It will depend a little on how old you are now.

You might need to go back to speech therapy for a little guidance.

  6. Do you think maybe some of the anxiety you have over your voice comes from having problems with it in your childhood?

  7. Well, speech therapy might do something, but instead of focusing on your voice, focus on your mind.  If you have intelligent, funny, helpful things to say, it won't matter so much how your voice sounds.

Just look at Stephen Hawking - the guy "talks" like a robot yet many people are interested in what he has to say!

  8. If you are really that bothred about it then maybe you could go to a speech therapist?

  9. wear a muzzle...

  10. aww dont worry about it, im sure ur just freaking out...just be urself and dont change ur voice

  11. I'd stop worrying about the pitch of your voice and be more concerned with the content of what you are saying.  If you can be articulate, intelligent or even just witty, people wont be focused on your voice, they will be reacting to what you are telling them.  Also having a strong command of the English language greatly affects how people perceive you.
