Question:

I HATE the color of my skin!!! What should I do?

So I'm on the paler side, and I hate it because it's summer and I like don't tan! I've gone to a tanning bed once, and it didn't work, so I'm thinking about going more regularly... but, there is melanoma skin cancer in my family history, so that's why I'm kind of skeptical about going. I've bought a lot of products from walgreens and stuff, but it's always so expensive and you have to keep buying it when they run out!! What should I do? I want to be darker!

Please no rude comments!! Thanks.

  1. Don't go to tanning beds. period. especially if there's history of skin cancer in your family. Stick with rub-on.

  2. To me i hate the really tan girls but i love girls who are kind of tan and on the paler side

  3. you should just use those lotions with natural tanning ingredients that way you will add color slowly and also get the moister you need without the harsher chemicals you will get from spray tanners or tanning beds.  plus, if you do go out in the sun, always wear a high SPF, you will still get some sun but without as much damage. protect your scalp and hair too with products that contain SPF, and your make up as well.

  4. I'm tan but i was from my birth! i play football to keep up my skin color.so u should do sports specially under sunshine with wet face.do u like my skin color?

  5. hit the beach and participate in more outdoor activities.also wear sun screen but not a really high one

  6. If your family has a history of melanoma skin cancer I'd advice you to not do the whole tanning-bed thing.

It's way too risky and not worth it.

A lot of the tanning products in stores look really unnatural, and the really good one's are quite expensive.

You should go to a professional spray tan place, they last for quite a while...Yes,they're quite pricey.

But,It'll give you the desired tan you want and it lasts for a long while.

  7. Get a spray tan.. they aren't usually that expensive & you'll stay dark for a few weeks. But there is a risk of being orange.

And also, you won't get tan by going to a tanning bed only one time. You'll have to go often before you'll see results.

  8. I think pale skin is beautiful. Instead of trying to change your skin color, find ways to compliment it. Sheer pink lipsticks and glosses look great on fair skin, and for eyes an icy blue eyeshadow is pretty for spring and summer. Other eyeshadows work well also, it depends on your hair and eye color.

As for trying to get a tan, you really shouldn't. Whether it's in a tanning bed or the natural way, in the sun, you're only damaging your skin. And since you have pale skin, you'll probably only get freckles. Take good care of your skin, it's much more important to keep it healthy.

  9. naturally tan

  10. I've tried this lotion from Rite Aid before to help me through those long winter months. You can adjust your tan by using the dial and it smells great. Use this website to help you out though! Dont tan if you dont have to especially with your family history.

  11. this may sound really really dumb, but i am really pale too, and sometimes i just puposely burn, because it makes me a slight bit darker than i was before. i'm not saying go to the beach and not put sunscreen on, i'm saying put like 20 SPF sunscreen on and lay out, and don't go to tanning beds if cancer runs in your family, its just not safe.
