i opened up a window in my house and outside of the window are bushes with sharp branches. well, my cat weighs 30 lbs (yes im tring to control his dieting) and he thinks he can climb anywhere like a normal weight cat. so he got up in the window and fell out into the bushes! it was about a 4 foot fall but i didnt see how he landed.

Every sinse he fell he has been panting uncontrollably! i felt around on his body to make sure he didnt have any wounds from the branches and he didnt act like anything hurt. but his mouth is wide open and panting really bad. he doesnt want any water i already tried.

im afraid he's gonna have a heart attack because he is overweight!

  1. TAKE HIM TO THE VET!!! PANTING IS NOT A GOOD SIGN!!

  2. get him to a vet, he could have bruised himself, punctured a lung or any other number of things.  Get him checked soon

  3. Don't waste anymore time on here. Go to the vet now.

  4. why don't you try taking him to the vet? they could tell you if anything is wrong with your cat, they could give you medication if there is, and they help your cat get better if there is anything wrong. i hope that your cat is o.k.

  5. Take him to the vet!

  6. get him to the vet ASAP he has some internal injuries that are causeing breathing problems.

  7. Vet, Now! He may have a collapsed lung or something!

  10. Right, i seriously hope you are not still sat at your computer to even read my answer... and that you have gone to the vets.

    Vets Now

An animals health is not worth waiting the time to boot up a pc.

I hope your cat is ok.

  11. Go to the Vet NOW rather than wasting time here.

  12. Yes, you should take her to the vet. She might have broke some ribs.   Also, put some honey or sugar water in her mouth.  She could be trying to go in shock.

  13. He may have a fractured bone or damaged organs. Please take him to the vet. Cats pant when they are in pain.

  14. No you're not an idiot but wow 30 lb are you for real??? My cat is maximum 9.5 lb. Listen I would see if she's eating... usually when cats are eating it means that they aren't in a very bad shape.. that they are recovering. Also make sure she has no broken bones!

    Thank you.

  15. WOW...   I am soo sorry about your kitty.

Yes, honey, please call ahead and then take him straight to the vet.  They will probably want to xray his abdomen and chest.  He very well could have internal injuries.  If this is the case then the longer you wait, the more damage is being done that will be harder for the vet to fix.

And considering his weight, this kitty really is in even more danger of complications.

Good luck, prayers be with you and I hope he is ok but definitely do NOT wait.

  16. get him to the vet NOW

  17. Please don't waste time reading anymore answers, we're all saying the same thing  - get him to a vet!!

  18. Yes, you have a cat emergency!

You're not an idiot, we all make mistakes BUT you really need to get him to his vet.  He may have swallowed a splinter or another object.
