  1. Actually, the lad above me (North Carolina) is the right one.  He's your man.  I'm just adding to it and sharing a similar experience.

Mine is a new one.  Briggs&Stratton engine, 2550.  The wire leading to the spark seems flimsy and will likely give me problems down the road.

The Brand is Troy Bilt...but Briggs&Stratton will respond.

I called them over some other issue earlier in the year.  After a few moments they said, "You part will arrive in about 4 days."  They never asked to a charge card...they just said...sorry for the inconvenience.  Part arrived.  End of story. Works fine now.

But it does depend, like NC above, on the model that you have.  If you call the company...get the model number in advance.

  2. Things to check:

Make sure the plug is good, it's properly connected and not cracked or in need of repair. Next; make sure the on/ off switch is working properly and a wire has not come loose. Lastly is to make sure the coil is good.

Not knowing how old or the condition of the motor it's hard to tell the exact problem but thats a start and one of the things listed is most likely the culprit.
