I HAVE A PEARL SCALE GOLD FISH THAT I GOT A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO AND HE HAS ANCHOR WORMS WHAT DO I NEED TO DO .?

THE WOUNDS ARE INCREASING IN SIZE AND MORE ARE APPEARING IN DIFFERENT PLACES.

  1. Anchorworms are actually parasitic copepod crustaceans, not worms like their name implies.  Medication can be purchased at the pet store to treat anchorworms (i.e. Dylox or Dimlin).  If you only see one or two anchorworms you can try removing them with tweezers if you can do so without stressing the fish.  Even if you manage to remove the parasites, still treat the fish with medication.  Make sure to read the directions on the medication carefully.    Good luck!
