  1. I don't see why you would. As long as you have your original birth certificate and the court decree allowing you to change your name, then there should be no problem.

  2. No your birth certificate always stays in your maiden name.  Your deed poll is enough.

  3. No, your deed poll certificate is sufficient.

You can't get a birth certificate in your new name.

  4. No - a birth certificate is issued when you are born, as a record of your birth and the legal details of that.  You have changed your name but you are not born again!  In any instances in future where you have to provide your birth certificate (passport application for instance) you will just have to provide your deed poll certificate.  It's the same when someone is married and changes their name - they just present their marriage certificate along with their birth one.

  5. no........... your birth name is your birth name. that is a legal document, it can not be changed.

  6. No just make sure you keep your birth certificate and deed poll together in case you ned to prove your identity.

  7. Depends on your country. I know someone who changed s*x from male to female, and had a new birth certificate issued stating she was born a female and with her female name!

  8. Your birth certificate is absolute, it cannot and doesn't need to be altered.  When your name changes, all you need to support that is your deed poll certificate - or marriage certificate, for that matter.

  9. You cannot get a new birth certificate issued in a different name, there maybe a name change certificate that you are allowed to use though.

  10. no but you have to have your court document on hand when required

  11. No, you're birth certificate is an historical document and can never be changed. Your name change deedpoll is now the legal document you need to confirm your new name.
