I Have a British Telecom phone, at the side of it, there is three settings, one has MF T, one has MF E, and?

the last one has LD, can anyone tell me what they mean please?

  1. MF T = Multi-Frequency Timed Break Recall. This is the one you should use.  Especially if you have call waiting and want the R (Recall) button to work.

    MF E = M-F Earth uses an extra wire for recall. Used with some office systems

    LD = Loop Disconnect. This is the old rotory dial pulse method. Slow and no support for * + # keys. Only now used in some third world countries.


  2. LD is for Loop disconnect which is the old method ie the rotory dial. MFT and MFE are multi frequencies ie 'TONE' and are the modern 'beep' . The MFT is purely to allow it to work on phone systems that need a timed break recall. Hope that helped, Owen

  3. Further to the previous answer "E" refers to earth recall facility.
