I Have a maid who worked at my place for 5 months.. today I discovered she's 6 months preg. Please guide?

I need your point of view keeping legal issues in mind to. Now she fell last evening while working n we had to take her to the doctor n that is how we got to know about her 6 month pregnancy. Also in front of doctor she also revealed she's underage. She was raped at night at the agency someone she doesnt know of put cloth on her mouth to stop her shouting raped her. OMG!! I am so upset at this now. I cant go out in public talking about it since she's underage.. we could be in trouble because of it and my folks wont agree to that. Its killing me.... My parents dint want to keep her home since we could be in trouble... They dint listen and we had to send her back. I kept asking her again n again to tell me her family's contact information n numbers but the silly girl wont give me n she tore the sheet n threw it. Now what should I do? Save my *** n sit there? We are a small family .. me mom n dad.

I want to do something for the girl. Get her back home or maybe send her back to her home.

Allow her to work. What are her view about future, about delivery, about work etc.? Employer is not at fault in all cases. She can do anything in her personal life.

If she is under-age and you are employing her, and she is not from this country you are certainly liable for her well-being, in both economic and moral senses.  If she is working illegally, you are all, rightfully, in my opinion, all culpable.

I do not know how corrupt police are in India, but legal issues might be easy to settle. Especially since she concealed her age and pregnancy from you.

If you feel like kicking her out is too cruel, help her find a place to live and a sit-down job (sewing clothes, assembly line). And maybe pay for doctor visits for pregnancy.

Just giving her the money might be easiest, but she might end up being cheated out of it.

PS Also, I suggest you find her family or at least talk to the "agency" to make sure the whole "raped teen" story is true.

that is a strange situation. I am sure she would know where her house is or where any of her relatives would be. Take her to a doc and look out for options. Ask her..does she want to give birth and have a baby at this age or put the baby up for adoption? You can also contact some Women welfare organizations in  your area..I am sure there must  be some..and tell them you want help in delivering the baby.  

And most important..If she was raped at the agency or she did it on her own..You don't know..She should have told you or brought his matter out when she was "raped". But since she did it just when the matter became complicated, I doubt her. I would say you should tell the police about the rape..as giving birth to a child without getting married would not be right for her. How the h**l is she going to support the baby? Who will provide care for her and the baby? What about expenses??  So just threaten her that you will tell it to the police if she doesn't tell you about any of your relatives or parents or agency....I am sure she will ..else contact Women's Welfare organizations..Good luck and DON'T WORRY...its not your fault that she became pregnant...Its her bad luck

You need to contact a womens support group in your area please go to this website and see if you get any links, if not send a mail to their yahoo group and you may find more info on womens-help groups in your area.
