I Heard You Will Have To Be 16 Now to Get Your Learners License in Alberta, instead of 16 is this true?

I Live in Alberta and IM 14, has anyone heard about this rumor that uyou have to be 16 to get it now? And when will this happen? Please help!

  1. Everything that I can find shows that you can get your drivers license at the age of 16........


  2. In the Province of Alberta, the minimum age for a Class 7 Alberta Operator's Licence (Learners) is still age 14.   There has been no discussion about this actually changing.

    However, due to the Alberta Graduated Drivers Licence program you must maintain a class 7 for 1 year prior to upgrading to a Class 5 (which if you get a class 7 at 14, you're not gonna be able to get your class 5 until your 16 anyways so it's not a big deal)
